We started Tri-County Animal Rescue in 1998. We take animals to adoption events each weekend. We help our community with stray animals, assist with low cost spay/neuter, provide assistance with pet food for those in need, visit schools to educate children about animal welfare issues, work with Boy/Girl Scouts, partner with the Court Systems Community Service Work program, visit local nursing homes and much more.

TriCounty is working on upgrading our pets homes, fencing, and buildings. We would also appreciate gift cards as donations from Home Depot or Lowe’s. Simply select gift cards from the menu. Tax receipts will be thankfully given for this type of donation.

Who we are ...
We are a tax exempt 501(c)3 organization and are 100% volunteer run. Because of this, we rely heavily on of the kindness and generosity of animal lovers near and far to help us do this work. All proceeds go directly to the animals' care. Because vet bills for so many animals can run very high, financial gifts are the lifeblood of our program. We'll happily give you a donation receipt for your contribution.
Where to visit our PETS!!!
Friday & Saturday - at the Gastonia PetSmart on Franklin Boulevard. We are there from 6pm-9pm Friday and noon until 6pm on Saturday. If you are interested in a pet you have seen on Petfinder or at this site, please let us know the name or number of that animal when you call our office number at (704.263.2444). We will arrange for the animal to be brought from the foster home to PetSmart for you to see.

Have we mentioned lately that we have beagles for adoption?
This guy is Dave and he's a real sweetie. He's just one of the many, many beagles we have available. We have girls and boys. We have short beagles and tall beagles. We have fat ones and skinny ones (okay, not so many of those). We have old beagles and young beagles. We even have beagle/basset mixes! Please come and take a beagle home for the holidays!

TCAR visited the Stanley Total Living Center in Stanley, NC on July 28 and had a blast. There was time for singing, holding puppies & kittens, talks about all the pets from years before coming to the center, ice cream, and lots of hugs. Gypsy the miracle pit bull was there and was loving up to everyone. Duke Power Information Technology employees were there as part of a Global Service event and we all had a great time.
