From Lincolnton/Shelby:

  • From Shelby take NC 150 east all the way in to Lincolnton. In Lincolnton there is a big intersection with 150 and NC 27. At this intersecion 150 turns right and runs together with 27 for several miles. This is a big five lane road. You cross a bridge over the four-lane 321. If I'm remembering them all there are six traffic lights. At the last one the two roads split and each goes back to two lane. 150 goes left toward Lake Norman and Mooresville. 27 goes right toward Charlotte. Go right on 27.

  • We are located on just off hwy 27 approx 8 miles from this intersection . We are 1/2 mile before Alexis on the county line.

  • You will go through two traffic lights on 27 before you get to us. The first one is about a mile from the split between 150 and 27. The second is about 1 1/2 miles past the first one. Go straight on 27 through both lights. Then you go through a little community called Iron Station. After you go through Iron Station you will notice a very tall radio tower. You will see this thing for several milses before you get to it. It is actually on the right hand side of 27. We are on the left hand side of 27 directly across from the dirt road that goes to this tower. There is big sign on the left that says 'TRI-COUNTY ANIMAL RESCUE' and a paved driveway. The name of the drive is 'AL HAGER LANE'. Turn left on to Al Hager and we are on the right behind and beyond the gray house. (The turn for Al Hager lane is just before the county line sign on 27 that says 'ENTERING GASTON CO./LEAVING LINCOLN CO.' so if you pass the county line sign then you missed the left turn. The county sign is on the right-hand side of 27)

  • NOTE** I mentioned that you go through the two traffic lights. If you come to a third traffic light then you have over shot us by 1/2 mile and are at the cross road in Alexis. Turn around and head back toward Lincolnton. We will be one half mile on the right just inside the county line which is now on your left and says "ENTERING LINCOLN CO./LEAVING GASTON CO."
